How Meat Raised:  poultry is free run and large animals are grain fed, pasture raised.

We are a 20 acre mixed farm where all the animals are naturally and ethically grown however we are NOT organic. Established in 2009 we strive to produce the best meat, fruit, veggies and value added products.

Windsor Farm - road sign

Chicken – We raise Cornish Cross meat birds for 9 weeks in which time they grow to  5 – 9 lbs. $5/lb for whole birds, $5.50/lb for pieces. They are free run (large covered runs with separate housing)  birds and are fed pelleted feed from Top Shelf as well as garden and kitchen scraps. They are butchered at the Saltspring Island Abattoir. They are available fresh on the day after butchering or frozen all year long. Ducks – We raise Pekin ducks for 9 weeks in which time they grow to 5 – 8 lbs. $7/lb. They are free run (large covered runs with separate housing) birds and are fed pelleted feed from Top Shelf as well as garden and kitchen scraps. They are butchered at the Saltspring Island Abattoir.

Turkeys – We raise large Whites for Thanksgiving and Xmas. They are raised free run (large covered runs with separate housing) and are fed pelleted feed from Top Shelf as well as garden and kitchen scraps. They are available fresh for Thanksgiving and Xmas and sometimes there are spares either whole or in pieces in the freezers. $5/lb whole, $5.50/lb pieces, $7/lb ground. Butchered at the local abattoir.

LambWindsor Farm - lambOur ewes are Suffolk,  Romney or Romney crosses plus all the bottle babies we adopt. They are rotated on 78 acres of leased pastures, fed textured sheep tex every morning.  $7/lb for whole lambs, $12 for pieces. They are butchered after September at the local abattoir and available frozen mostly year round.

Goats – Our kids are Nubian x Oberhasli. They are rotated on 64 acres of leased pastures, fed textured sheep tex every morning and finished on apple pressings from Saltspring Wild. They are butchered after September at the local abattoir and available frozen mostly year round. $7/lb whole or $10/lb for pieces.

PorkWindsor Farm - porkWe raise our pigs farrow to finish in a 4 acre pasture/woodlot at the back of our property. Molly is a Berkshire x Yorkshire black and white sow and Zeus, our boar,  is a large black x berkshire. They are fed hog grower twice a day. They also receive milk and whey from our two purebred jersey cows. $6.50/lb half or whole, $7/lb ground, $10/lb pieces. They will be processed at the local abattoir.

BeefWindsor Farm - beefOur hand raised Hereford and Angus x cows  are pastured on 68 acres of leased land and fed sheep tex every morning.  They will be butchered at the local abattoir around 18 months. $6.50/lb quarter or half, $7/lb ground, $10/lb roasts, $15/lb steaks.

Chicken eggs – Our chickens are free run most of the year except when the garden is sleeping in the winter then they are free range. When they are free run they get all their goodies (garden and kitchen scraps) delivered. At present we have Barred Rocks and Hylines $5/dozen

Duck eggs – Our laying ducks are Golden 500, they are a white egg laying duck. $5/dozen
